This was probably one of the most amazing things I have ever seen in my life. There were hundreds of animals in this one spot, at least seven different species of animals. Every where we looked there were more animals, the pictures do not do it justice.
I was so excited that we got to see two different lions! We were at Chobe National Park in Botswana for a day safari and had an amazing time!
Because he was upwind, he spooked the Impala. They took off and he didn’t give chase because they had a good head start. He did stick around and let us get some great pictures. He hung out in the shade about 10 feet from the jeep.
As he walked closer we got a great view of him! He was a skinny little guy, just starting to grow his mane. The guide explained that he was just learning to hunt and wasn’t very good yet. He was upwind of the Impala and they would smell him when he moved out from behind our jeep.
We waited, and he slowly crept closer, keeping his eyes on a herd of Impala on the other side of the jeep.
See him back there? This is where we first spotted him.
This Mama lion was resting in the shade after a hunt. She is beautiful!
