July Visitors

This is Julie and Robin, both PA students here for about 6 weeks. They came two weeks ago and have been rounding in the wards and seeing patients in OPD. They are a lot of fun to hang out with!

Hospital Jammin’

MVI_5937-007

Yesterday and today have been holidays in Zambia, so we’ve had the opportunity for a bit of rest and adventure. Tonight we went to the hospital to continue working on remodeling the wards. I decided to liven things up and bring the guitar.

Some of our friends gathered around and we discovered that between us we could sing Hakuna Mungu in 5 different languages. It was a BLAST! Here’s a link to a video of the singing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TA7gPTBVBkw&feature=youtu.be

Backyard Nail Painting

A picture from this weekend, we all painted each others nails. The girls decided that I would get bold dark blue toe nails. Though I wouldn’t have chosen it myself, I wouldn’t trade it for the world =) Hope you are having a nice weekend!

Dinner With Friends

This week Laura, Tanner and I went out to dinner with our friends Purity and Charity. We ate at a small restaurant in the market across the street, it was a great meal and a very memorable experience. Charity and Purity are translators who work with our visiting medical personnel, I’ve gotten to know them pretty well over the past five months. They both are very dedicated workers and have a huge heart for people.
